Risk Management - Overview
Sport BC is committed to ensure every sport participant is provided a safe environment. Harassment in sport is a serious issue that needs to be addressed by everyone involved in the amateur sport system.
Sport BC has – in collaboration with many partners – taken a leadership role on this issue by providing policies, developing an action plan and delivering a series of educational and training workshops to individuals within the sport system. More specifically, Sport BC facilitates harassment advisor and harassment officer workshops for individuals to which harassment claims may be directed.
In partnership with Respect in Sport, Sport BC has also been able to offer online safety training through an online learning program that assists coaches and sport leaders in identifying and dealing with abuse, neglect, harassment and bullying in sport.
